Tuning the 150 Watt Carbon Dioxide Laser

Making adjustments to the beam shape of a 150 watt carbon dioxide laser can be tricky. Here the 150 watt beam is striking a “fire-brick”, which glows white hot in a matter of seconds. By using a welder’s mask to look at the bright spot, fine details of the beam structure and shape can be viewed, and if necessary, adjusted.
