Since 1982, the Submillimeter-Wave Technology Laboratory (STL) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell has developed solid-state and laser-based terahertz sources, high-sensitivity incoherent and coherent receivers, and implemented a number of novel measurement techniques in the submillimeter-wave regime. These technologies combined with our dielectrics characterization and fabrication program, have allowed STL to become a leading pioneer in submillimeter-wave applications.
